Love. It can change your the way you see the world in the blink of an eye. It´s as elusive as a butterfly in a hot summersday, and still- the one thing we count on when all else is lost. We need it to feel alive, yet it has the power to rip apart our hearts when taken away. It´s aphysical sensation so strong that we can literally feel our hearts burst with it when loved, and then at other times- the way love is not presant can make your heart feel so empty, so lost that life itself seems dark.
-Love is a many splendored thing, Love lifts us up where we belong, All you need is love!, Ewan McGregor sang in the famous movie "Moulin Rouge" a couple of years ago- acompanied by the ever so lovely Nicole Kidman. And it´s true. Love is all you need. Love can oust both money and fame, and it does- in all great movies. It´s a popumar theme. And why? Why do we get so engaged to see that the poor boy gets the rich girl against all obstacles? Why is it so important for us to have love winning? We want people to choose love.We need people to coose love. Anything else would feel wrong and go against our values in life. Wouldn´t it? (...)We all expect mothers to love their babies, siblings to love eachother. Lovers to be in love. We´re expeced to love our friends and extended family and we expect that they love us back (...)We all know that terrible thought of loosing one of our loved ones. We´ve probably all, at one point or another tasted the fearful thought of it, loosing a loved one, in a dream or in reality itself. And maybe- just maybe- that´s why it hurts so much when terror hits. (...)I don´t think it´s possible to truly love someone you´ve never ever met. Still- I think it´s more than possible to feel how love is actually in the air-sometimes. How all the love expressed, especially after nationale disasters or major accidents can increase our empathy so much for those directly effected that we actually mistake the feeling for being love itself. And I don´t really think it matters either- what we call it. It´s more in how we act. How we reach out.
if you google the word "love" you get around 6 billion answers in a second. I think there´s just as many stories of love out there, if not more. Love is all around, and love can take on so many shapes that I find it truly impossible to describe what true love should be about. It´s just to big of a mission. (...) And I don´t do this often, but for once I will turn to the bible. Not because I´m religious, but because I think that no one´s said it better
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4–8a) - Share the love.
